Our experienced team of professionals provides a full range of hardwood flooring options such as pre-finished and custom-installed hardwood floors, engineered wood floors, vinyl flooring, cork flooring, vinyl plank flooring, and more. Flatwater Finishes also offers professional installation services for all types of custom millwork including custom shelves, cabinetry, countertops moulding & more. We also offer repair and maintenance services. We take great pride in delivering top-notch service, excellent craftsmanship, and unbeatable value.
Jim is the Sales Director at Flatwater Finishes and has been with the company since January 2022. His background is in construction sales with a focus on millwork and flooring. He loves helping clients find the perfect finishes for their home to bring their dream spaces to life.
Through years of sales experience, Jim has learned to read his clients and guide them to the perfect fit for their budget and taste. Whether it be high-end or entry-level, all projects are important to Jim and he treats every client with the same care and attention. Everyone deserves top-tier service and attention when working with Flatwater Finishes.
When not at work, Jim is a loving husband and father to his wife and three kids. Every evening and weekend there is a sport or activity to enjoy to keep the whole family active. Jim is also passionate about cycling and skiing, anytime spent outside makes him happy.

Amanda is an interior designer at Flatwater Finishes and has been with the company since April 2021. Specializing in millwork design, Amanda uses that experience to assist homeowners, fellow interior designers, architects, and contractors with their projects. Over the years, her strengths at Flatwater Finishes have garnered some recognition for home and kitchen design by the Canadian Home Builders Association.
When she is not at Flatwater Finishes, Amanda is an avid traveller and loves spending time exploring the world. Some of her favourite memories include a 2-month backpacking adventure along the Mediterranean Coast, an 8-month trip connecting to her heritage around Southeast Asia, and getting her scuba diving certification in Thailand. Some of her future destinations include Peru, Egypt, South Africa, and Morocco.

Our Process
While each job may be unique, we pride ourselves on a core process that remains the same for each and every project. All projects are met with equal value and equal attention. We are there every step of the way:
- One
Initial contact to speak about materials, budget, etc. so that appropriate samples are brought to the in-person meeting. - Two
Initial site visit to view samples, take measurements and gain one-to-one contact. - Three
Provide an estimate based on the needs discovered during the on-site meeting. Always make the effort to send an estimate within 24-48 hours.
- Four
Send a 50% deposit invoice once the estimate is accepted. Manage ordering, delivery, fabrication, other materials required, etc. Ensure that all materials arrive to site on an agreed upon date. - Five
Day 1: Meet the installation crew on site to set up. Discuss any possible change of time/cost for extra levelling, grinding, floor prep, and baseboards, etc. Review with the client prior to starting. - Six
If the job takes longer than 1 day, a check in will be provided every day or every other day, as required. All installers to report directly to Flatwater Finishes to avoid disruption.
- Seven
Once the installation is complete, a final walk through is arranged, photos are taken, and contact is made with the client to ensure satisfaction. - Eight
If there are no outstanding touch-ups a final invoice is sent along with the warranty and any applicable documents. - Nine
Client care follow up is provided for all completed jobs.
